Girl Scouts of Western Rivers Council * Summer Lovin' Fun Patch Program

POINTS TO CONSIDER

Summer Girl Scouting can be very flexible.

Activities can be planned in a variety of ways. It might be done by a patrol, you and some of the girls, by the girls and their families or by just girls.

The main purpose of the activity can be "just having fun" with no emphasis on skills, service or earning badges or try-its. Though these things do not have to be ruled out, either! Having a good time will still be based on the principles embodied in our Promise and Law, and, of course, the rules for safety in Safety-Wise are always in  effect on a Girl Scout outing.

Communications will be important.

Decide ahead of time just how information will be passed around. You may set up a telephone tree or each planning group may do its own phoning. The important thing will be to be sure an effort is made to reach each girl.

Permission slips may be needed. Check your Troop Notebook.

Blank permission slips may be passed out at the last meeting of the year to be filled in as the girls are called and plans are made known to them.
