Welcome to Camp Cleawox:
|
Camp Cleawox is located two miles south of Florence in the Oregon Dune
National Recreation Area. The 47-acre site is situated on a freshwater lake. During the summer, Camp Cleawox
becomes a summer resident camp for over 600 girls from our council and
throughout the rest of the year is used by Girl Scout troops and community
groups. |

Cleawox Lodge
The fully winterized building was completed
during 1996. It is equipped with a large dining area that seats a capacity of
150, commercial kitchen, bathrooms, meeting rooms and fireplace. Sleeping space
for 20-40 people is available on the floor. The building is wheelchair
accessible.

Staff House
This small, winterized building has a kitchen area
with sink, stove and refrigerator, bathroom with shower and flush toilet, wood
stove, wall heater, table, benches, and old furniture. It sleeps 6-8 people on
the floor. The building is wheelchair accessible by trail and is a short walk
from the parking lot.
Adirondack and Yurt Units
There are four camp units with open-air adirondack
shelters (three-sided cabins) or yurts. Each unit has sleeping accommodations
for 24 people. Each unit has pit toilets, cold running water and picnic tables.
Some pit toilets are wheelchair accessible. The units are a short hike by foot
trail from the parking lot.

Shower House
The shower house is located across the field from
the lodge. There are ten shower stalls and is wheelchair accessible.
Viking Hill Program Shelter and Tent Platforms
The 12’ by 12’ shelter with a roof and partial
sides can be used for program activities or as a cookout/campout site. There are
tent platforms available for sleeping. Viking Hill has a pit toilet, cold
running water and a fire ring. The shelter is a ¼ mile walk from the parking
lot.
