Girls set goals early in January and take an active role in discovering and determining what exciting and fun activities their troops will do with the cookie sale troop proceeds. Our goal is to help make their dreams come true with a cookie sale season that’s filled with big possibilities, learning opportunities, and most of all – FUN. Girl Scouts of Western Rivers Council works closely with Little Brownie Bakers, the supplier of our delicious cookies. Sign on to http://www.littlebrowniebakers.com/index.html for a website focused on girls and the 2008 Cookie Sale Program. There are printable recipes for the delicious cookies, crafts, party ideas and much, much more for troops.

The Girl Scout Cookie Activity also known as the Cookie Sale, is right around the corner. The council asks for your full support. Funds from the sale of Girl Scout Cookies benefit your Girl Scout, her troop and the entire council. The cookies really are just the beginning.

This program helps your Girl Scout learn essential life skills which include:

bullet

Goal setting

bullet

Self-confidence

bullet

Teambuilding

bullet

Early business skills

Writing a check for a donation isn’t the same as participating in the Girl Scout Cookie Activity and doesn’t help your Girl Scout. When you write a check you bypass the essential lessons and all the elements of fun. You can best support your girl by helping her set and reach a substantial goal. Here are some simple yet important ways to help:

bullet

Ask her about her troop and personal goals

bullet

Help her practice her sales message

bullet

Encourage her to sell beyond family and friends

bullet

Become a Troop Cookie Volunteer

When you support her efforts, you’re truly helping her to build courage, confidence and character.

INFORMATION FOR LEADERS

Link for ebudde:  http://ebudde.littlebrownie.com.
This is the real site where all transactions should take place.

PSC’s (Product Sales Certificates) earned by girls participating in the Cookie Sale Program will be available at your May Service Unit meeting.  Just a reminder that your PSC’s can be used for any Girl Scout council event, to purchase items in the council shop, and towards camp fees at any of the camps in the camp brochure. More camp information can be found on our website www.wrgirlscouts.org .   Attached to the PSC’s is a council shop flyer showing some of the really cool items that can be purchased with the PSC’s. Another attachment you might have is if girls earned and chose the Glamour Backpack with Waterbottle. There is a manufacturing issue with these items and the council opted out of offering it and replaced it with the same level $10 PSC. Contact Lori Jensen in the Eugene Service Center if you have any questions regarding this.
