bullet Central Oregon: WONDERFUL ON – GOING COMMUNITY SERVICE PROJECT FOR ALL TROOPS!  This is a fun easy activity for all troops to participate in….making cards for our military troops and medical staff overseas!
bullet

Cards should be without glitter, feathers or puff paint (nothing that can fall into wounds).

bullet

They should have no pictures of weapons, rockets, tanks, gravestones or other war images.

bullet

Each card should have a personal message inside.

bullet

The girls could write their first name and Troop Number on the card and use our office as the return address.

THEY NEED TO HEAR WE CARE!  Let’s see how many soldiers we can cheer up!  Cards should be brought to Peggy at the Girl Scout Service Center and will be picked up before the second Saturday of each month to be delivered by leader, Annette Mastroleo to “Caring for Troops”.  Thank you for living the Girl Scout Law….”… friendly, considerate, caring, and making the world a better place!”

bullet

Eugene: Do you like to connect with kids and nature?  Volunteer to work with us at the Alvord Farm and Museum in West Eugene.  We are a 20+ acre working farm and hands-on children's museum located on private property in west Eugene.  Our farm contains hundreds of specimens from around the world, including the collects from a noted local ornithologist.  We are developing hands-on programming for school groups and private tours and need your help.  There are projects including painting murals, organizing and cataloging collections, curriculum development, curatorial design, community relations and more!  Come on out for a visit and see how you can be a part of  bringing nature and children together.  For more information contact Karen Rainsong, coordinator, (541) 683-8271, karen@rainsongdesign.net, www.alvordmuseum.org .

WHY: Once a month, House of Hope Women in Transition, meet as a support group. They are looking for volunteers to do positive activities with their children while they meet.
